The upated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators (Stanford) ranking provides standardized information on citations, the h-index, the hm-index adjusted for co-authorship, citations to articles in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator based on the other metrics (c-score). Separate data are shown for career-long impact (citations up to the end of 2024) and for citation impact in the calendar year 2024.
Citation data and researcher profiles are extracted from Scopus. Field- and subfield-specific percentiles are also provided for all scientists, according to the classification of 22 fields and 174 subfields by Science-Metrix. The selection includes the top 100,000 scientists by c-score (with and without self-citations) or those within the top 2 % of their subfield.
ICMAB most influential researchers
In this year’s edition, ICMAB has 17 researchers included in the career-long ranking and 18 in the 2024 single-year ranking. In both, the highest-ranked ICMAB researcher is, like last year, M. Rosa Palacín, who holds position 22,488 in the former and 6,918 in the latter.
The ICMAB scientists in the carrer-long ranking are the following: M. Rosa Palacín, David B. Amabilino, Josep Fontcuberta, Concepció Rovira, Enric Canadell, Massimiliano Stengel, Riccardo Rurali, Francesc Teixidor, Clara Viñas, Xavier Obradors, Jordi Rius, Kasper Moth-Poulsen*, Mariano Campoy-Quiles, Jaume Veciana, Amparo Fuertes, Alexandre Ponrouch and Concepción Domingo-Pascual.
And the ICMAB researchers in the 2024 single-year ranking are M. Rosa Palacín, Massimiliano Stengel, Alexandre Ponrouch, Kasper Moth-Poulsen*, Josep Fontcuberta, Can Onur Avci, David B. Amabilino, Francesc Teixidor, Ignasi Fina, Xavier Obradors, Clara Viñas, Jaume Veciana, Florencio Sánchez, Alberto García, Amparo Fuertes, Jordi Rius, Enric Canadell and Riccardo Rurali.
In total, 14 ICMAB researchers appear in both the career-long and the 2024 single-year rankings: M. Rosa Palacín, David B. Amabilino, Josep Fontcuberta, Enric Canadell, Massimiliano Stengel, Riccardo Rurali, Francesc Teixidor, Clara Viñas, Xavier Obradors, Jordi Rius, Kasper Moth-Poulsen*, Jaume Veciana, Amparo Fuertes, and Alexandre Ponrouch. Three researchers are featured exclusively in the career-long list (Concepció Rovira, Mariano Campoy-Quiles, and Concepción Domingo-Pascual), while four appear only in the 2024 single-year ranking (Can Onur Avci, Ignasi Fina, Florencio Sánchez, and Alberto García).
These results highlight the outstanding international visibility of ICMAB researchers, who rank among the top 2 % most influential scientists worldwide in their respective fields. The presence of both long-standing and emerging ICMAB scientists in the Stanford ranking underlines the Institute’s continued impact and excellence across diverse areas of materials science.
