Top 10 ICMAB articles with a higher IF in 2024 - A year in review

The Clarivate journal Impact Factor (IF) metric system gives a yearly numeric indicator of how much has an article been cited and how much impact has it had. With nearly 250 publication with IF, ICMAB's average IF has been 9.6, with 27% of the publications with an IF higher than 10. 

These are the ICMAB articles that have had a higher IF during 2024. This year, articles with higher IF range from the topics of oxides and ionic liquids, to moving microscopic objects with self-disassembly: 

1.- Nature Review Materials

On the 1st place, with an IF of 79.8:

  • Using oxides to compute with heat

    Proteins are highly labile molecules, thus requiring the presence of appropriate solvents and excipients in their liquid milieu to keep their stability and biological activity. In this field, ionic liquids (ILs) have gained momentum in the past years, with a relevant number of works reporting their successful use to dissolve, stabilize, extract, and purify proteins.

    Boron-containing compounds (BCC) have emerged as important pharmacophores. To date, five BCC drugs (including boronic acids and boroles) have been approved by the FDA for the treatment of cancer, infections, and atopic dermatitis, while some natural BCC are included in dietary supplements.
