The Superconducting Materials group at the "Saló de l'Ensenyament" 2019

On Thursday 21 March, the Superconducting Materials group was at the "Espai Ciència" of the "Saló de l'Ensenyament" at the CSIC-Catalunya stand, which included different kinds of activities from different Catalan CSIC research centers. The Superconducting team showed the visitors the science behing the levitating train, liquid nitrogen and the properties of nanoparticles.

The Superconducting Materials and Large Scale Nanostructures group (SUMAN) was on Thursday, 21 April, from 1 to 4 pm at the CSIC-Catalunya stand of the "Espai Ciència" of the "Saló de l'Ensenyament", organized by the "Fundació Catalana de Recerca i Innovació".

Postdoc, PhD fellows, and master and undergraduate students were happy to show their knowledge in superconducting materials and nanoscience to the visitors who came to the stand. The liquid nitrogen is always a good attraction for people, as well as the levitating train. Once the visitors were at the stand they could listen to the explanations about the science behind the Meissner effect, the superconducting magnets, or the Rayleigh effect of nanoparticles solutions.

Thank you for your passion for science and for willing to share it with the people!

And thanks to the CSIC-Catalunya, who organized the stand.

About Espai Ciència:

EspaiCiència is an initiative to approach the research and innovation that is performed in the universities, research centers, industries, entities... to the society, and specially to young people.

The programmed activities are attractive for the visitors and stimulate the interest and curiosity for science. Science demos, workshops and other interactive activities that will allow the researchers to share their science with the young students.

This event is organized in the framework of the "Saló de l'Ensenyament", to stimulate the young students for science and technology and to encourage scientific and technological careers.
