The Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC) is delighted to announce the first edition of The Materials Science Future Leaders program. This is a unique opportunity for outstanding recognised researchers — advanced postdocs or junior PIs — to share their vision for the future of materials science.

A set of selected participants will be invited to stay at ICMAB-CSIC from the 27 to the 30 of October 2025. They will have the opportunity to present their research, receive training and interact with our researchers.

4-days of training, sharing and networking

Participants will benefit from:

  • 4-day visitor’s programme aimed to facilitate the establishment of effective collaborations
  • Opportunity to share their vision of materials science through a seminar.
  • 2-day event focused on training sessions on research impact and technology transfer
  • Exclusive access to meetings with top-tier scientists and research line leaders at our centre.
  • Networking with leading experts and peers in an immersive, collaborative setting.
  • Career advice and guidance by ICMAB-CSIC Talent Officer
  • Institutional support in the preparation of proposals for competitive calls to secure a future position in the centre.

This initiative aims to foster dialogue, inspire collaboration, and support the professional development of emerging leaders in the field. A maximum of 6 selected participants will be offered a grant to cover travel and accommodation expenses.

If you believe your ideas and work deserve this spotlight, we want to hear from you. At ICMAB-CSIC we are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and supportive scientific community. Researchers from all backgrounds and identities are strongly encouraged to apply.
