ICMAB activities at Festa de la Ciència 2025

ICMAB will be present both on Saturday and Sunday in La Festa de la Ciència with the following activities:

"Detectius dels materials: identifica la mostra desconeguda" (Detective of materials: identify the unknown sample), in the Basic Science  area on Saturday 31st from 17:55 to 18:40. In this activity, aimed at children aged 10 to 14, participants will help an ICMAB researcher who has dropped a series of samples on the way back from the lab. Some samples can be identified with the naked eye or through simple tests, but others will require additional information, which will be provided by Anna Esther Carrillo, Judith Oró, Anna Crespi and Marko Paradinas, SEM, TEM, XRD and AFM technicians respectively.

"Afecta el 5G a la salut? Busquem la resposta en un cuc" (Does 5G affect health? We look for the answer in a worm), in the Marc Boada stage. The talk, by Carlos Orts (NN), will be part of a science slam composed of 6 microtalks that will be competing on the most engaging science communication. The Slam will take place on Saturday 31 from 19:25 to 20:25

"Com les cèl·lules solars orgàniques transformen l'energia" (How organic solar cells transform energy), an hands-on workshop by the NANOPTO researchers Arianna Quesada, Francesc Xavier Capella, Miquel Casademont, Martín Francisco Martín and Arnau Guiteras on the history, working principles and latest developments on organic solar cells. It will take place in the We take care of the planet area, on Sunday 1st from 12:35 to 13:10.
