Abstract:
The webinar will present recent results where gelator molecules are used to immobilise dyes, that show remarkable dynamic behaviour under certain experimental conditions. The same gelators can also act as templates for the formation of oxides of interest for battery applications, amongst other things.
Bio:
David is presently at the University of Nottingham, where his research group investigate dyes and gelators for a variety of material applications. Prior to returning to the UK in 2014, he had been at the ICMAB since 1996 researching molecular materials, having performed postdoctoral research in Strasbourg and Birmingham after his thesis in dendrimers at Royal Holloway College, University of London.
