Nanomol-TECNIO is recognised by the Government of Catalonia for its strong activity in technology transfer, which is acknowledged through the TECNIO seal — a distinction awarded to research units with high levels of innovation and collaboration with industry. In this context, Nanomol-TECNIO has received support from ACCIÓ, the Agency for Business Competitiveness of the Government of Catalonia, to carry out activities related to technology transfer.

As part of this initiative, six short videos have been produced to present selected technologies developed at Nanomol-TECNIO. The aim is to help communicate the unit’s research capabilities and technological offers; to attract private companies and research entities.

The following four videos, produced by the Nanomol-Bio group, showcase some of their nanomaterials for biomedical applications. They have been published on the group's LinkedIn page and in the ICMAB Youtube channel:

• Therapeutic nanovesicles – Nanovesicles designed to encapsulate and deliver fragile biomolecules, such as proteins or nucleic acids, improving their stability and therapeutic potential.

• Radical dendrimers for imaging – A new class of metal-free contrast agents for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), offering high performance with low toxicity compared to conventional gadolinium-based agents.

• Functional surfaces – Surfaces engineered through molecular self-assembly to prevent or eradicate bacterial infections, with additional applications in tissue regeneration and photodynamic therapy.

• Fluorescent nanoparticles – Organic, biocompatible nanoparticles that emit in the near-infrared range and can be used for early detection, biosensing, nanothermometry, and theranostic applications.

In addition, two videos have been created by the e‑MolMat group to highlight their technologies. One of them focuses on functional interfaces:

• Functional interfaces – The video shows how surfaces can be engineered with self‑assembled monolayers to develop chemical sensors, switchable optical properties, and controlled wettability.
