The Max Planck Partner Group “Dynamic Biomimetics for Cancer Immunotherapy” (Nanomol department; ICMAB-CSIC) is looking for a MSc graduate who wishes to do an Internship for 8 months, with the possibility of continuing as a PhD fellow, to synthesize and develop switchable 3D hydrogels for T cell culture.
The young researcher will join an international team and will work closely with other members of the Max Planck Partner Group with the final objective of bringing adoptive cell therapies, which have shown very promising results in aggressive cancers, closer to the clinics in collaboration with clinical settings such as the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO).
The MSc graduate will be incorporated in a highly multidisciplinary project, and his responsibility will lie in the synthesis and physicochemical characterization of switchable hydrogels through spectroscopic techniques (NMR, IR, UV-Vis, etc.), rheology, SEM, etc. Moreover, the young researcher will also participate in cell culture studies to evaluate the effectivity of such switchable hydrogels, where T cell proliferation and differentiation will be analyzed through optical and fluorescence microscopy, ELISA, flow cytometry, etc.

- Master degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Nanotechnology or related fields with an average grade equal to or greater than 7.5 out of 10.
- Experience in synthesis, spectroscopy, microscopy and/or cell culture will be appreciated.
- Good level of oral and written English (minimum B2).
- Highly motivated person with good capacity for team work and eager to acquire new knowledge and skills.
Compensation: Salary equivalent to a PhD fellow.
