WHAT?

Training aimed at the staff of SOMMa centres and promoted by the SOMMa Working Group on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.

In this training we will explore the concept of intersectionality and its relevance in processes of structural change. Through a combination of theory, reflection and good practice, participants will gain a deeper understanding of intersectionality and how to apply it in research centres. The benefits of adopting intersectional approaches will be addressed, as well as tools for integrating them effectively. In addition, the main challenges and resistances in this process will be discussed, providing strategies to overcome them and move towards more inclusive and equitable structural change.

TRAINER

Sara Clavero has a degree in Philosophy and a PhD in Political Science. She currently works as a senior researcher and deputy director of the RINCE (Research Centre in Equitable and Inclusive Cultures) research centre at Dublin University of Technology (TU Dublin). Her field of analysis focuses on inclusive gender equality and intersectionality in the university, research and innovation sector. She has participated in multiple European projects, as well as organising workshops in several European countries on this topic. She currently coordinates the NEXUS project (Twinning Resaarch and Innovation Institutions to Design and Implement Inclusive GEPs) and is co-facilitator of the SuSTEM Community of Practice, part of the European INSPIRE project, in which several SOMMa centres participate.

3-hour training with a coffee break, facilitating the exchange of experiences and networking.
