On Tuesday, October 8, at 9:30 am, an informative session on the project InCAEM – In Situ Correlative Facility for Advanced Energy Materials will take place at ICMAB. The initiative is led by the ALBA Synchrotron, with the participation of ICN2 and ICMAB and PIC (IFAE).
InCAEM focuses on developing state-of-the-art microscopy infrastructure and on strengthening the large data facility jointly managed by ALBA and the Port of Scientific Information (PIC), dedicated to data storage, analysis, and simulations.
In this session, we will present in short talks the progress on Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy ((S)TEM), the Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM) platform, and the computational infrastructure, and highlight the opportunities that this new infrastructure will provide for research and innovation.

The InCAEM project, which aims to enable correlative experiments combining beamlines and advanced microscopies at the ALBA synchrotron, is part of the Planes Complementarios programme, launched and funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation together with the Generalitat de Catalunya, with support from the NextGeneration EU funds.
The opening of the InCAEM initiative will take place on Monday, 24 November 2025, at ALBA Synchrotron in a Joint Ceremony, which will inaugurate the InCAEM project and celebrate the completion of the Advanced Materials Complementary Plans.
