The meeting was held in the Physics and Chemistry Faculty of the Universitat de Barcelona from 5 to 7 November 2025. The other organisers of the event were the Scientific and Technological Centers of the Universitat de Barcelona (CCiTUB), the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience (ICN2), and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
The meeting brings together annually experts and professionals of X-ray diffraction to explore the last developments, share knowledge, and generate new ideas in the field. This year’s edition also marked the tenth anniversary of the event. “The meeting —says co-organiser Anna Crespi, technician at the X-ray Diffraction lab at ICMAB— has established itself as a reference point where professionals in the field share key challenges, advances, and current developments”.
The meeting also included two ICMAB-led works: Jordi Rius participated in the roundtable “The Diffraction and Crystallography Services”; and Carlos Frontera gave a talk on “Self-developed software for visualization, diffraction data treatment and 3D tomography of reciprocal space”.
The meeting concluded with a visit to the ALBA Synchrotron, where participants were able to see first-hand one of the most advanced facilities in Europe. "Overall", says Anna Crespi, “the event was a great success, it nearly doubled the number of participants compared with previous editions, and the quality and interest of the presentations were outstanding”.
