About the International Yar of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements
2019 is the 150th anniversary since Dmitry Mendeleev discovered the Periodic System and has been proclaimed the "International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements" (IYPT2019) (AITP in Catalan).The initiative for IYPT2019 is supported by the IUPAC in partnership with the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP), European Association for Chemical and Molecular Science (EuCheMS), the International Council for Science (ICSU), International Astronomical Union (IAU), and the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (IUHPS). In Catalonia, the initiative is coordinated by the Societat Catalana de Química (SCQ). Nora Ventosa, researcher at ICMAB, is the Vicepresident of the SCQ and has collaborated in this initiative.
The ICMAB is one of the coorganizing entitites, and will participate in the organization of some events at our Institute and in other places.
