On Thursday, November 12, ICMAB, IMB-CNM, ICN2 and IFAE, with the collaboration of ICE, will take part, for the first time, in an inter-centre treasure hunt, offering around one hundred high school students the opportunity to discover different aspects of the research carried out at the four centres. In the activity "Del més petit al més gran: viatge per la recerca que ajuda a entendre el món" ("From the smallest to the largest: explore the research that helps us understand the world"), students will see and experiment with different kinds of research, from fundamental to applied, and from the nanoscale to the study of the universe.
Students will take part in different challenges at each centre, allowing them to explore a wide range of topics and techniques. They will have to complete a series of short workshops to collect a passport stamped by all four centres and receive a small gift at the end. Representing ICMAB, Carlos López from the NN group, Anna Crespi, Xavi Campos and Joan Esquius from the XRD Service, Noemí Contreras from NANOPTO and Anna Drou from the Communication Department will host the students.
Science Week (Setmana de la Ciència) is a week during which a large number of completely free science outreach activities take place across the country. Open days, online activities, exhibitions, science workshops... a wide range of scientific activities in different formats, accessible to everyone! Science Week is aimed at all audiences and has two main objectives: to bring science and technology closer to the public and to encourage scientific vocations among young people.
