How would you explain your research to a non-scientific audience?

Understand macroscopic physical phenomena through the microscopic world.

What are the main applications of your research? Could you give us an example?

Optoelectronic memory devices based on ferroelectric materials.

Find research that interests you so you can stay motivated

What will you miss the most from ICMAB?

Definitely the people here, they made my PhD life very fulfilling and happy.

How do you think this experience will contribute to your training and to your future?

This will have a profound impact on me. I think I will continue the spirit of scientific exploration I learned at ICMAB.

What are your plans once you finish your PhD? 

I will continue my research activities in the same field.

What do you wish you had known at the beginning of your PhD, that you can recommend to the ones who are starting?

Good cooperation is very important, learn to communicate and share your ideas with others.

Why did you become a scientist? Who have been your role models?

The reason why I want to become a scientist is because it is very interesting to learn about discovering new phenomena and knowledge.

Dr. Tu Youyou. She has a profound influence on the development of female researchers in China.
