Brando Ciccotelli Garrido, former Master’s student at the ICMAB-CSIC, has been awarded the 1st Prize 3PBIOVIAN for the best Master’s thesis in Biotechnology. Brando worked with EMOLMAT researchers Diego Gutiérrez Yatacuee and Carme Martínez Domingo, who, under their AGAUR-project FUNGOFET, were looking to turn scientific developments into market opportunities.

Ciccotelli developed a business plan for a novel technology, aiming to make it a real option in the market. He aimed to estimate the production cost and tentative selling price, as well as conduct a screening of infections or diseases where FUNGOFET technology could be useful.

Thanks to this information, financial projections were prepared: "This is very useful in order to ask money to investors", says Diego Gutiérrez.
