UltraCell, LabsInLove, and LINCATH, technologies developed at ICMAB-CSIC, have been selected as winning projects in the Santander X Award | University Entrepreneurial Projects 2026
The call, managed and coordinated by the FGCSIC for the awards allocated to the CSIC, aims to support the most promising university and CSIC entrepreneurial projects that are in the validation stage and preparing for market launch. The awardees in the first phase are, in the Category A, LINCATH and ULTRACELL. In the Category B, the ICMAB spinoff LabsInLove. The projects will now go on to compete at the national level. In the end, there will be only 10 winners.
ULTRACELL, hybrid supercapacitors that increase charge density without sacrificing power, thanks to an innovative laser treatment
Arevik Musheghyan, member of the LASER research group that developed the technology, said: "This recognition is an important milestone that will help us continue advancing the technology and accelerate its transfer to the market. We would like to thank the jury and the Santander X team for their confidence in our project, as well as the Fundación General CSIC for its support of scientific entrepreneurship and knowledge transfer.
