This 4th SUPERBAT course was two-days long, starting in the early morning, with a total of 15 hours of lectures.

This training course aimed to face the challenges and opportunities that an increasingly sustainable society is demanding. To this end, the school covered different topics of interest such as: Li-ion and post Lithium batteries, liquid and solid electrolytes, supercapacitors and micro-supercapacitors and battery assembly, amongst many others.

The speakers of this course were very diverse, including Elizabeth Castillo-Martínez (UCM), Javier Carretero González (ICTP-CSIC), Montserrat Casas Cabana (CIC energiGUNE), Xiao Hua (Lancaster University), Mª Luisa Sanjuan (INMA-CSIC-Universidad de Zaragoza), Alexandre Ponrouch (ICMAB-CSIC), Mª Rosa Palacín (ICMAB-CSIC), Irune Villaluenga (Polymat), Erlendur Jonsson (University of Cambridge), Rebeca Marcilla (IMDEA Energía), David Pech (LAAs-CNRS), Maider Zarrabeitia (Helmholtz Intitute Ulm), Olga Rodríguez Largo (CNIM-CSIC), Evan Wenbo Zhao (Radboud University Nijmegen), Larraitz Gamborena (CIDETEC) and Bogdan Petrescu and Ousmane Camara (Biologic).

The school counted with a very high participation and with attendees from all over the world. According to one of the organizers, Alexandre Ponrouch, "We were thrilled to organize the SUPERBAT school. It was done in hybrid format with 44 attendees onsite (40% of which came from abroad) and over 150 attendees online from 36 countries". At some points, more than 200 people were conntected online!

"We received a very positive feedback from the attendees of this fourth edition of the school, which covered very diverse topics including different battery chemistries (Li, Na, Ca, Mg, redox flow), supercaps, cell assembly line, recycling, modelling."

This was the 4th edition of the school. The next one, the fifth edition, will be held in Madrid in September 2025.

Thank you to the fantastic organizers, to the amazing speakers, and to all the enthusiastic participants, both online and in-person! See you next year in Madrid.
