This year 2025, after 10 years of growing success, the festival may be coming to an end. Over the past decade, the festival has included a variety of activities and formats, such as workshops, talks, visits, monologues and writing contests in different venues, from the research institutions to civic centres, including public squares and schools. These events have aimed to connect nanoscience research centers with the broader public, with educational, engaging, and dialogue-promoting goals.

In this special edition, ICMAB will be joining efforts with the organization and other research centres in the campus, ICN2 and IMB-CNM, apart from the UAB itself. The activities in which ICMAB will take part this year are:

At UAB Campus

ICMAB is one of the research centers participating in the organization of the main event on campus, where over 200 second-year high-school students will visit research centres, take part on workshops at UAB's Science Faculty and join a round table with young researchers and other professionals working in nanoscience.

ICMAB researchers Guillem Whetherell (NN) and María Jesús Ortiz (e-MolMat) will host two groups at ICMAB and Núria Pujol (Nanomol-Bio) will participate in the round table at the UAB Science Faculty. 

At CosmoCaixa Barcelona

ICMAB will be present in the activities organized at CosmoCaixa in Barcelona. As part of the 2-day programme full of workshops, talks and science dialogues, ICMAB will offer:

• A talk on Nanotechnology and Science by the researcher Judit Morlà (Nanomol-bio). It will be included in a series of 4 talks animated with interactive mini-activities with the pubic on the afternoon of Friday, May 9. 
• An activity on new materials and their properties on the evening of Friday, May 9. The Scientific & Technical Services staff will be the ones organizing this activity, together with our Science Outreach staff. Stay tuned!

Nanorelats and Nanoscience contest

We also participate in the organization of the "Nanorelats" Nanoscience writing contest. Rossella Zaffino (FunNanoSurf) will represent ICMAB on the jury. The winners and their stories will be announced at the end of May.
