Research Lines
Description
To apply the tools provided by Statistical Mechanics (theory and molecular simulations) to problems of industrial relevance. We seek not only the fundamental understanding of what happens at the molecular level, but also a continuous improvement of models. The final goal is to develop accurate models able to quantitatively predict experimental data. The models are developed in close collaboration with experimental groups from several Universities and Research institutions or Companies.

In the last years we have focused on two main areas:
1) modeling, structural characterization and optimization of materials, including adsorbents, and catalytic materials, as well as dispersions of nanoparticles, and
2) quantitative predictions of thermodynamic, structural and transport properties of fluids of industrial relevance, including polymers, surfactants and alternative solvents (supercritical fluids, ionic liquids, etc), among others.
